Herrmann Wedding

We went to Dan's cousin, Josh Herrmann's wedding this past weekend in Hondo, TX. It was a beautiful wedding/reception, and Abby had lots of fun eating cheese and mints and dancing at the reception.

Abby got in trouble and had to stand in the corner. :(

Gymnastics

Abby has been taking gymnastic lessons. She really enjoys it - once she got the hang of it. They work on basic coordination and developmental skills. She looks so fashionable compliments of Hollie!

Swim Lessons

Abby took swim lessons the first 2 weeks of June. She HATED it the first few days. I had to get Dan to take her because I couldn't bear listening to her cry for 45 minutes (the joys of motherhood). Now, she jumps in from the side of the pool, kicks, and goes underwater with no problems (not in that order, of course).

Cabining

We went "cabining" with Katie, John-o, and Natalie at the end of May. Dan won't let me call it camping, since we rented a cabin. It rained everyday, but it was nice to get away. Melissa joined us for a few days, also.Abby got sick while we were there...allergies...runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes. She looks miserable, doesn't she? As the good parents we are, we were sure to take plenty of pictures of her looking miserable!

2nd Birthday Party

Abby had her 2nd birthday in May. Pawpaw, GG, Honey, Granna, Brad, Hollie, Katie, John-o, and Abby's friend Natalie came to help her celebrate.

We had fun with bubbles and a bounce house. Abby had a great time, but was a little confused when we lit her birthday cupcake on fire!

Summer TV Scares

I commented to Dan the other day that it seems a lot of bad things have been hapening lately. Kids disappearing, people dying, etc. Then - I realized - I've just been watching the news more. It's quite depressing and I would rather stay uninformed about the world. Here are some things our family will not be able to do since I've seen them on the news:
1. Go camping - in Utah an 11 year old was snatched from his family tent and eaten by a bear.
2. Go out in the rain - a 2 year old in Haltom City, TX was swept from her mother's arms during a flood this past weekend - I still don't think they've found her.
3. Go on vacation with Abby to a foreign country - a 4 year old was kidnapped from a hotel room in Portugal while her mom/dad dined 200 yards away.
4. Go swimming in any sort of body of water - aside from shark/alligator attacks, you've got currents just waiting to carry you off.

I'm sure we will still do all of these things - you have to get out and live life - you can't be scared all the time. But, I AM going to stop watching the news.
